The NFL draft is a process of "out with the old and in with the new", where youth is obtained as potential replacements for veterans. A team roster only has so many slots, and if you are past your prime, slow to adapt, or reached the end of your cash stacked contract without performance to support the digits, it is more likely that you are sent packing by one of the teary eyed newcomers on stage. One player already planning a trip to U-Haul to reserve his rental is Reggie Bush. His future in New Orleans was already cloudy, but the Saints shined more light by trading back into the first-round to select the 2009 Heisman Trophy winning Mark Ingram. While some twitter followers played trivia, searching history for other Heisman running backs that shared the same backfield, Bush took the hint, expressed his thoughts, and it had nothing to do with tandems.
With a fresh horse in the stable, Bush's days in New Orleans may be over, or at least he feels they may be. The second overall pick in 2006 excited crowds but never truly lived up to the enormous hype received upon entering the draft, or contract received after. The past two seasons were marred by injury, and speculation of a 2011 Saints roster without Bush was already building before 2010 was gone.
The Selection of Mark Ingram doesn't automatically push Bush out, but it does leave him without leverage for negotiation.
