An Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) from a high altitude nuclear detonation over the United States, remains an instant kill shot threat that can stop our country cold in its tracks. A recent newsmax.com article, "North Korea Tests 'Super-EMP' Nuke," corrects widely-reported erroneous conclusion a 2009 test was a failure. "North Korea’s last round of tests, conducted in May 2009, appear to have included a ‘super-EMP’ weapon, capable of emitting enough gamma rays to disable the electric power grid across most of the lower 48 states, says Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, a former CIA nuclear weapons analyst and president of EMPact America, a citizens lobbying group...North Korea’s nuclear tests have been dismissed as failures by some analysts because of their low explosive yield. But Dr. Pry believes they bore the 'signature' of the Russian-designed 'super-EMP' weapon, capable of emitting more gamma radiation than a 25-megaton nuclear weapon." This news item is disconcerting because average citizens will be in the dark unable to verify EMP source. An event knocking out the nation's power grid can be blamed just as easily on a solar event. The present writer questions whether you want to be underground if there's an earthquake, a number of shelters are in California, according to a Vivos map? The message seems to play off fear and reason should prevail in any decision? What's to stop what government remains after a catastrophe to declare an underground shelter--a detention camp? A finished shelter with all amenities is appealing--even in Nebraska--and may be right for you? The present writer wants simply to reinforce message: buyer beware! Is it terra vivos or subterran muerte?

solar storms: risks of rising solar activity

A burst of solar activity this past week generated, also, dire warnings such as, "Catastrophe Looming? The Risks of Rising Solar Activity," at SPACE.com. The present writer is left with the impression of covert preparation for tragedy, an inculcation of sorts, in such warnings. "'Even if this is a really lackluster solar cycle — as it looks like it's shaping up to be — that doesn't mean you can't have a real bell-ringing event,' said Joe Gurman of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, project scientist for the agency's sun-studying STEREO spacecraft." An element of possibility is planted in a reader's mind, even while acknowledged there's a lack of any clear threat.

Is it just recognition of a remote chance, as the Solar Max of 2012 is anticipated to be the largest in years, or something more? The average citizen would never question the official explanation for a knock-out punch of the nation's power grid. It would likely never come to mind to ask, whether the source was a solar flare, coronal mass ejection or an EMP event from a weapon? Is it an ingenious coupling of natural and artificial sources in a predictive program to prepare us for tragedy in the making!

Northrop Grumman published a study of China's capability to conduct cyberwarfare last year. The present writer suggests at least surveying, "An Operational Profile of An Advanced Cyber Intrusion". The section contains a very readable review of a sophisticated data collection operation and intrusion upon large US company networks. It's an education. ZDNET Asia provides a more disturbing quote from the same document in, "China's US $90b ups cyberwar stakes,"... document also claimed the country has stockpiled a kinetic arsenal that includes lasers, high-power microwave systems and nuclear-generated electromagnetic pulses to supplement its cyber warfare force. It also claimed the country is training its forces to work under 'complex electromagnetic conditions'." This represents serious and sober preparation for knocking out and operating computer systems under very harsh and adverse conditions. It's war preparation, clearly!

earth's magnetic fields cause of bird & fish die off

The Earth's magnetic fields are surfacing in the press as an explanation for several recent mass bird and fish die-offs! Donna Pravel writes in, "Earth's Magnetic Fields May Be Causing Bird and Fish Die-Off", about massive breaches detected in the magnetosphere by five NASA Themis spacecraft. Breaches allow highly charged particles to enter and can result in large geomagnetic storms. Pravel offers disruptions in the magnetic fields as disorienting both birds and fish, who use the magnetic fields to navigate, although she leaves open the possibility the fish kills are unrelated. The article fails to convince, under a critical eye, although a geomagnetic storm may explain the trauma to the dead birds. The die offs, at least in Arkansas, seem too specific to be explained by a storm as primarily blackbirds and drum fish died. How did other birds survive? How did other fish manage to navigate? It could be a coincidental disease killed the fish? A mass die off roundup at news.com.au should raise questions in any rational mind?

In June 2007, Themis spacecraft recorded a breach 10 times larger than anticipated. There is an audio version of the article by Tony Phillips as well as a video version available here. The present writer's concern is the growing number of sources capable of taking down our civilization in a single sweeping blackout. Will it be a electromagnetic pulse from a rogue terrorist nuke or ruined circuitry from a solar maximum, a solar flare and/or geomagnetic storm? What else can cause a breach in the magnetosphere? The possible sources of attribution seem on the rise, but how will we know the real source with any certainty in such an event? Is it predictive programming?

the emp threat

"EMP Threat: fact, fiction and response", an article by Yousaf Butt at The Space Review, examines the threat of a catastrophic electromagnetic pulse. The present writer finds, in recent years, attention to this issue noteworthy. "Report of the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagntic Pulse (EMP) Attack", published in 2004, provides the recommendations of an EMP Commission. Butt's Space Review article addresses the commission's concerns about damage to the infrastructure, electronics and reviews results of high altitude nuclear explosions from 1955-62. The US series of tests called Starfish Prime and Russian series, which includedTest 184, are specifically reviewed.

Butt breaks down three properties of a gamma ray burst from nuclear detonation and resultant pulse: E(1-3). E-1 and E-3 are most damaging to electronics, while properties of E-2 resemble lightning. A terrorist group could detonate a low yield nuclear device at an altitude of 40 to 100 km, which would be crippling to a nation's infrastructure and electronics. A low yield device would result in a pulse low in E-3 but still deliver sufficient E-1 energy to prove damaging. Today's electronics based on integrated circuits are one million times more vulnerable to pulse damage than the vacuum tubes used in the cold war era at the time of the high altitude nuclear detonations.

ground zero: space weather, coronal mass ejection & chile quake

from clyde lewis: The Large 8.8 earthquake that hit Chile was not a product of HARRP but it very well could have been a result of a direct hit from the snapping of a solar filament. All last week pictures had been issued from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory of an enormous magnetic filament that hung suspended above the surface of the sun’s southern hemisphere. It was estimated to be I million Kilometers or 621,371 miles long. The filament could wrap itself 24 times around the earth. SOHO did say that the Filament did snap around the 25th of February. It produced clouds and a coronal mass ejection. It was unknown what effect it would have had on the earth.

Now we see that a mass earthquake hits Chile some days after the CME occurs. A tsunami set off by the magnitude-8.8 quake threatened every nation around the Pacific Ocean roughly a quarter of the globe.

I would say that we are not out of the woods yet. We have until March 1st to see if anything else strange may go down.

All this activity is a sign that the sun is coming back to life after a long, deep solar minimum. Sunspots have returned crackling with solar flares, and coronal mass ejections.

In the Ground Zero Lounge report "That Synching Feeling: Modern Hermetic Arcanum," I reported that last year it was predicted that something like this would happen within the next three years. It wasn’t predicted by some dime store psychic, but NASA Scientists.

The book 'Severe Space Weather Events–Understanding Societal & Economic Impacts Workshop Report' is a fictitious account that is available for free online and gives us an up close and personal look into a “fictitious“ massive coronal ejection.

The coronal ejection Electromagnetic pulse or EMP from the sun is detailed in the book with a fictitious scenario that happens at Midnight on September 22nd, 2012. In the fictitious account,

“The skies above Manhattan are filled with a flickering curtain of colorful light. Few New Yorkers have seen the aurora this far south but their fascination is short-lived. Within a few seconds, electric bulbs dim and flicker, then become unusually bright for a fleeting moment. Then all the lights in the state go out. Within 90 seconds, the entire eastern half of the US is without power. The earth begins to rock and a devastating earthquake is felt over a large area. A year later and millions of Americans are dead and the nation’s infrastructure lies in tatters. The World Bank declares America a developing nation. Europe, Scandinavia, China and Japan are also struggling to recover from the same fateful event – a violent storm, 150 million kilometers away on the surface of the sun.”

The amazing thing is that the report details beautiful flashing lights above the earth before the EMP or CME hits the earth. When the earthquake hit Chile it was reported on MSNBC that a freelance reporter Cecilia Lagos said that before the quake she saw brilliant flashes of light and brilliant colors in the sky over Chile in the wee morning hours before the quake hit.

People may ask, If this coronal ejection was so huge then why was Chile only feeling the effects? Well this is not over yet, but there is a very good reason why Chile and several other areas in the Southern hemisphere may not escape the wrath of the Electromagnetic Tsunami.

There is an area known as the South Atlantic Anomaly which is a dip in the Earth’s magnetic field which allows cosmic rays, and charged particles to reach lower into the atmosphere. This interferes with communication with satellites, aircraft, and the Space Shuttle. While there are theories as to why this occurs, the geologic origin is not yet known. The earth’s magnetic field is there to protect us from threats. A breach in the field leaves us open for danger.

The magnetic field in the south Atlantic Anomaly can leave people that live in these regions vulnerable for a Pulse ejection from the sun. The mainstream media will not report that a filament from the Sun was dangling above us for three weeks before it exploded. People would panic not knowing what to expect.
