I felt there were too many fields to fill in. It might help if we can take out some fields. Like RFE etc.
in the current system it is not mandatory to fill out all the fields. if you want to leave out RFE, you can do so.
We felt that some people want to track RFEs and see how it affects the overall progress of the case. Even though we do not have such calculation, I think it would be worthwhile to have an analysis done on that. It would help people know when an RFE is generated how far their case is pushed back. RFE information will also help people in the same boat and they can make such people as buddies and monitor each others cases and contact each other to figure out what is going on or how the RFE was replied.

Not baby sitter. I want to take care of my parents.
it is part of our culture, we all live together forever.
well then since its such a problem that they come and go so frequently, have you considered to move back home and go to US every few months to keep the greencard?? Why are you making them travel so frequently so that you can stay with them ??

I oppose the Senate immigration deal in current form.
Immigration Reform unfair to the legal high-skilled. Legal First
We are always told, Break the law, and you will be in trouble. But, the recent Immigration Reform Grand bargain proposes to send a message that is precisely the opposite.
We are being told that no undocumented immigrant will get ahead of those in backlog. While the backlog of Family-based petitions has been highly publicized, the petitions of individuals (engineers, scientists, doctors and other professionals) are being left in legal and bureaucratic limbo. About half-a-million highly qualified professionals and their families have put their faith in the legal immigration system and due process of the United States, while working to enhance the US economy. These people have pending petitions either with the Department of Labor, or with the CIS, the final adjudication of which will enable them to work with a US employer, with consequent ripple effect on the US economy.
In the old system, employment-based petitions were limited to 140,000 per year, but the proposed system, in order to reduce backlog, reduces them to 90,000 per year only! On the contrary, Family-based cases used to be limited to similar numbers, but now have been increased to 567,000 per year! In addition, close to100,000 of these applicants with pending petitions are being asked to start from scratch in the new system. In effect, it is similar to changing the rules or rather, the Laws after the fact! Innocent high-skilled prospective immigrants are being penalized due to bureaucratic delay in the DOL.
Highly skilled doctors, scientists, engineers, and computer professionals have been stuck in backlogs since the last 3-4 years. They had hoped to get relief from the Immigration Reform, but have been let down badly. They are being forced to renew their H-1Bs yearly now, while the old system allowed 3-yr incremental renewals while their Green Card petition was pending. Seems like a fitting reward for following the Laws, isnt it?
Per washintonpost report, USCIS on purpose delays the process and keep backlog to earn the extension and renewal fee as 20% of their budget. THIS IS CALLED SCAM.
Your attention and help requested on the matter.

Maybe if we can repeat the flower campaign, and send the flowers with a note attached to the DoJ, they might get to notice it. Or, we can send the flowers to the president to appraise him of the issues that face us. What we do need to stress is the fact that dependents are being allocated immigrant visas that actually belong to the employed applicants, thereby creating a larger backlog. In effect, rather than 140K visas being issued to employed applicants, about 70K are being issued and the rest going to dependents. any thoughts?
Flower Capaign to the president is an excellent idea.
Also no hrm in trying lawsuit but we should be sure of the merit of your points. WE have to see the exisitng law and the reason for which we plan to file a lawsuit.
Wasting VISA numbers and day to day suffering / monetary loss / exploitation at job and not able to avail of good job opportunity looks to hold more merit than discrimination etc.

Dear Friends
With the Current Wave of Applications we never know how long its going to take to get an approval
We have to advocate for Law changes and make the Senate and Congress to address this issue, If not it may take longer than you think
Support IV's Effort

See link to senate rule (particularly, Rule No. 4).
http://rules.senate.gov/senaterules/rule16.php
Cornyn's amendment is "general legislation" seeking to amend an "appropriations bill". To be able to vote on Cornyn's amendment, 60 Senators have to vote to waive Rule No. 4. Only then can the senate vote on Cornyn's "general legislation".
Sorry to flog a dead horse but the Dems should not be blamed; if they had voted to waive the Rule, then all sorts of general amendments would have been offered by others and tough to cast aside.
On the other hand, it is useful to know that more than a handful repubs support this amendment; this could be handy in an actual vote when Sessions or his ilk seeks to filibuster the amendment. We may have 60 votes to win cloture.

Guys ... first of all thanks for starting this thread. Worth every bit of space on server.
I am based in Michigan and would like to get in touch with someone locally to guide me in setting up a LLC. Well saying that, I don't mind venturing with like minded people outside MI too. I have few ideas and would like to work on those, these are in products and industry I am working with (Mechanical/ Industrial). However, I think same approach can be used to generate IP in other fields too. So i am open to collaborate with like minded people to benefit from each other. i emphasize on like minded people, because their would be failures too and so need equal buy in.
Neverhteless, what I am saying is if their is an opportunity to collaborate to succeed collectively? Write me back what you think and good Luck.

I just want to let my wife to work for a couple of year and make use of the effort she spent in her US law school and bar exams and want to return back to India.... but when can i get that 2 years.....

There are no bills being discussed. House as well as senate are on recess and will convine after Sept 10th. After it reconvenes, between 10th sept and Oct 8th - it has a lot of tasks at hand, and no apetite for any big and controversial issues like immigration. Mid term elections are in early nov and nobody wants controversial bills debated just before that. Morover it has been made clear that GOP does not want any immigration bills except "fencing the border". Democrats do not have required votes for cloture.
So, nothing is going to happen on the immigration front- legislatively untill after nov elections. Attitudes towards this issue will change and more GOP Lawmakers wil favor talking about this after. It will be a different ball-game depending on who keeps the majority. In the lame-duck there might be a chance.
August/Labor Day Recess
House - August 9 – September 12
Senate August 9 – September 10
Target Adjournment:
House - October 8
Senate - TBD
So, between now and the lame-duck session, if we can educate lawmakers- especially now- since they are comming back home and to their constituents in the recess. Most of them have town-hall meetings arranged and want to hear from their constituents. It will be good to make ourselves visible and heard.

As if things weren't enough complex, today my friend told me one more thing about finger prints. His PD is 2004 Sep EB2, so he called USCIS to know the status of his application. Then they told him that his finger prints got expired (as per them they expire after every 15 months). So they will invoke the notice to get him an appointment for finger prints. They also mentioned if finger prints have expired then they can't process the application unless it gets renewed.
Although this is first hand information, I was very surprised and not sure whether or not to believe the information given by USCIS call center.
