Thinking outside the box. « angry commuter

Last week I attended a wetland training out in the field. It's a rare thing for me to be granted ingress to the out-of-doors in my "chosen" profession, however, when in college, this is what called me like a siren to change my degree from art to physical geography. Life is funny like that. The smallest changes will lead you places you never thought possible.

It's nice to get outside of the box, whether it is the cubicle.

Or the tram.

Or away from the city for an 80 mile rendezvous with a bicycle.

[caution: suppressed angry white guys ahead]

[mile 50/80]

[It is beyond weird to hear seagulls while riding right here.]

[The term "Gentile" is a essentially a religious slur, co-opted by the Mormon religion to address all non-believers.]

And Driggs certainly approves of my most recent concession outside of the norm, couch cuddling time.

All the while, in attempts to enjoy this salt box, mid-week adventures abound. Rides up Emigration Canyon are becoming a regular occurrence, as are the magnificent sunsets they provide.

Walks with Driggs yield quirky discoveries, thanks to G, I've now begun documenting these clandestine artistic efforts in my community.

And I got out to a somewhat familiar favorite, Sushi Groove, with my friend Nick. It was great to catch up over sake, creative and tasty rolls and, more importantly, dessert rolls with locally crafted ice cream. YUM.
