RE 4620 Course Reflection | stameyel
Overall I really enjoyed this class and the learning activities that we have been engaged in. The activities of this course have given me a broader scope of resources to be able to find alternative text; activities to engage students before, during, and after reading of text, and lessons and activities that engage the student in their own learning process. Before this course my ideas for lessons and strategies for instruction were very limited, but now I have a wealth of knowledge at my fingertips, so to speak, for creating a very active and enriching learning environment for my future students. I plan to use some of the lessons and activities that I have learned during this course as additions to and adaptations to regular course text instruction. The websites that I found most useful were: LearnNC, Thinkfinity, and NCWiseOwl . I like these websites because I found them easy to navigate and the information given was easy to understand. Also, I was able to easily align the lessons and activities I found here with the NCSCOS. I believe that as I become a teacher I will continue to find more resources to aid my teaching instruction and I feel the critical need I will have is finding engaging lessons which break up the monotony of rigorous mathematical computations. As of right now I am not sure if I will continue this specific blog, but I do feel like I will possibly create a blog of my own as a future teacher.
