The Beastie Boys got this whole online / viral / community thing long before most of us began extolling its virtues. It was till the 80′s when they reached out to young uber-fan Ian Rogers (now CEO of Topspin) to help create a web presence that captured their considerable creative output and served a unique fanbase. Thanks in part to Beastie Adam "MCA" Yauch's indie film house Oscilloscope Laboratories (which seems to be behind 70% of the films in my Netflix que), video has long been a big part of how the band communicates. So it's no surprise that as part of the promo for their eighth album, "Hot Sauce Committee Part Two", the Beastie Boys produced "Fight For Your Right Revisited", a short film and sequel to the "Fight For Your Right" video.
The "long ass video thing" stars Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Ted Danson, Elijah Wood, Jason Schwartzman, Chloe Sevigny, Stanley Tucci, Will Arnet, Stanley Tucci and Susan Sarandon.
