More great Wineries | Pino Noir

I pointed the way last time to some wineries that I find to be of tremendously high quality, though many of them are quite California specific. Hopefully tonight's update can broaden my recommendation horizons.

Cycles Gladiator

This is a budget winery that produces some of the highest quality wine I've ever had for the price. It was recommended by a co-worker at my previous job (thanks Phil) by way of a bottle of Pinot Noir that was quite tasty.  After finding a huge selection of Cycles Gladiator at Wally's, we tried the Syrah and found it to be an amazingly delicious Syrah with hints of bacon fat on the palette.  Since then we've tried the Merlot and the Cabernet Sauvignon and they're all fantastic.  I've also tried several of their blends under another label and I haven't been disappointed with any of it.  Best part about this wine?  You can most likely find it at a local shop ,since it's actually a pretty big brand, and usually the wine sells for under $15 a bottle.

Rosenblum Cellars

Rosenblum is another big winery with a fantastic selection of Zinfandel.  Their lowest end Zin, Vintner's Cuvee isn't my favorite, but the rest of the wine I've had from them is absolutely magnificent. Especially the Rockpile Road and the "Paso Robles" Zinfandels. Fantastic sweet expression of Zinfandel, and huge on the palette the way a good Zinfandel should be.  Also this wine is available at many grocery stores and Trader Joe's. Generally the "Paso Robles" runs around $20 a bottle and the Rockpile Road gets into the $40's, but still a reasonably good value for the quality.

That will have to do it for now. Good luck finding wine you enjoy!
