from bookbuzz: Just the term "Area 51" sets UFO theorists trembling with excitement. This week, a book titled Area 51 enters the list at No. 27. Author Annie Jacobsen interviewed 74 people including 32 who worked and lived at the secret Nevada military facility (which the U.S. government has never admitted exists). Area 51 covers the history of the Cold War, but the reason it's climbing the list faster than aliens swarming a spaceship? Jacobsen's jaw-dropping claim about a flying saucer which reportedly crashed in July 1947 in Roswell, N.M. The pilots weren't aliens but Russian or German children and teenagers who were surgically made to resemble the Martians in Orson Welles' 1938 The War of the Worlds radio broadcast, the book claims. Jacobsen says Stalin may have secretly collaborated with Nazi Josef Mengele in hopes of spreading panic in the U.S.

lake vostok mystery

Mystery builds as Russians quit drilling for season. The drill lies less than 50 feet from subglacial Lake Vostok environment. Russians leave a two mile borehole filled with kerosene to prevent freezing, until drilling resumes in December. Mystery surrounds the lake even thicker than the two miles of ice covering it. There is a reluctance to penetrate an environment separated from the rest of the world for thousands of years. The pristine lake could be contaminated in the process, but release of pressurized gases is also a concern.

Vostok station was established in 1957 by the Russians, who suspected the presence of water. A.P.Kapitsa attempted to verify a freshwater lake by seismic measurements in the fifties and sixties, but data failed to confirm it. Russian scientists were convinced though physical pressure exerted by the ice sheets, could reach melting temperatures.

In 1974, British scientists did a radar survey by flying over Antarctica and uncovered the terrain below ice of predominantly mountains, and on Christmas Day, what appeared to be a lake. A satellite study by space-based radar in 1991 confirmed the presence of one of the largest lakes in the world. A documentary, "The Lost World of Lake Vostok," provides an excellent summary of efforts made in the discovery.

Lake Vostok lies not only two miles down in complete darkness, but apparently a very old and deep lake. Vostok is about the size of Lake Ontario but with twice the volume and almost half as deep as Lake Baikal--the deepest lake in the world. NASA became interested because of similarities to Europa and viewed the lake as a testing ground.

Mystery helped propagate rumors a decade ago, when a NASA press conference was interrupted after allusions to "national security" concerns and intervention by the NSA.

The Art Bell show contributed to controversy with statement on air scientists were suffering ailments after returning from the South Pole. A McMurdo Station physician made a comment at the time to his replacement, "fill your pockets with salt," a hint to bring
iodine tablets because of radiation. It didn't end there.

Two million missing Nazis and base 211 have been tied to the lake. A 2009 Science Daily article can be worked into the conspiracy web, reporting a dynamic network of lakes below Antarctica--what better place for Nazi U-boats? The conspiracy-fest continues with possibility a large crystal, which powered legendary Atlantis, is the source of the magnetic anomaly detected at one end of Lake Vostok.

Is all the hype comic book fantasy or disinfo agents at work to obfuscate reality? Worse, has a virus we haven't encountered been released? Or, is the South Pole going to suffer a similar fate as the Gulf of Mexico? We won't have long to wait, December is the last month before apocalyptic 2012!

Operation High Jump organized by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, was ostensibly an exploration expedition to seek feasibility of establishing bases in Antarctica and map the continent. Journalists were suspicious of the true purpose, given the size of the force: 4700 men, 13 support ships and an aircraft carrier, the USS Phillipine Sea. Three operating groups set sail with the Western Group reaching the Marquesas Islands of French Polynesia, on December 12, 1946, to set up weather monitoring stations. The Eastern Group reached Peter I Island in late 1946 about 280 miles off the coast of Antarctica. The Central Group reached the Bay of Whales a natural iceport in the Ross Ice Shelf on January 15, 1947, cleared runways on the ice and dubbed the place Little America IV. The expedition was cut short by six months and ended in late February. Was it a hastily called for retreat?


Operation High Jump rumors persist of greater losses and the suspected result of battle with a Nazi presence. Dozens of Nazi submarines and thousands of their military men remained unaccounted for after the war. These hard facts added credibility to the belief the operation's true intent was to eradicate Station 211 aka Neu Schwabenland. The government files about the operation are still classified to this day!

On March 5, 1947, the "El Mercurio" newspaper of Santiago, Chile ran an article which quoted Admiral Byrd, he “didn’t want to frighten anyone unduly...a bitter reality that in case of a new war the continental United States would be attacked by flying objects which could fly from pole to pole at incredible speeds”. One can add the 1943 comment of German Grand Admiral Karl Donitz, "the German submarine fleet is proud of having built for the Führer in another part of the world a Shangri-La on land, an impregnable fortress", while unsubstantiated, only can be viewed as stoking fires for conspiracy of an "Antarctic Reich".

did vril society depart for aldebaran in 1945?

Did Maria Orsic hop in a Vril-7 spacecraft and make the jump in a worm hole to Aldebaran? A March 11, 1945 letter to the Vril Society written by Orsic, ended with "niemand bleibt hier" (no one is staying here). Orsic and the Vril Society vanished off the face of the earth shortly after. What does it imply? Did their fate take them elsewhere? In 1919, Orsic claimed to receive telepathic tranmissions, which originated from Aldebaran in the constellation Taurus. The transmissions resulted in two piles of papers, one in a secret German Templar script and a second unknown language, which turned out to be Sumerian. The papers were detailed plans for a flying machine. By 1922, the flying machine project, funded by the Thule and Vril Societies, began assembling parts manufactured for them by independent industry sources.

By early 1944, Orsic and Sigrun, the Vril mediums received information on inhabitable planets around Aldebaran and discussions ensued about a possible trip. These discussions included the highest levels of the Third Reich. The decision was made for a test flight of a Vril 7 through a "dimension channel", which rumor has as barely averting disaster. Did Maria Orsic and the Vril Society make it or crash and burn? Is it myth or is there something more? nazi bell: sci-fi or secret weapon?

Bill Hanks, a Yahoo contributor, asks questions about Nazi Bell technology in brief article, "Nazi Bell; Science Fiction or Secret Weapon?" Hanks wonders about the disappearance of SS General Hans Kammler, the man responsible for the Bell project and its vast documentation? One rumor has both loaded on a cargo plane to the United States or South America?

Hanks provides a nice summary of the physical principles. "The Bell device consisted of two counter rotating cylindrical containers. The containers were positioned one above the other. They were filled with both cryogenically cooled and frozen Mercury metal. There was a frozen core of a metallic paste, which served as a high permeability material for an electromagnetic gravitational field also called vortex compression."

After the war, Hanks points out similarities between the Nazi Bell UFOs and George Adamski's classic films and the the 1965 Kecksburg, PA sighting. Also, Betty and Barney Hill related, while under hypnosis, the aliens they encountered looked like Nazis in uniform! Hank concludes by calling the disappearance of Hans Kammler and the Bell technology, "one of the unknown mystery's of our time"!

Polish artist Hubert Czerepok fascinated over the years by Nazi myths of Nazi UFOs, the Antartic base called New Swabia and the US Navy's unsuccessful 1946 Operation High Jump, explored his artistic concepts in an art exhibit, last year, in Peenemunde, Germany, where the V-2 rocket was developed on the Baltic coast.   "Myths Of Nazi UFO Technology" is a nice recap of the myths surrounding Nazism.  "He feels artists often occupy the gray area between fact and fiction.  As an artist, you are in a position to reconstruct things which did not exist, things which are not certain." Czerepok impressed by the detail of the information available on the flying discs, "according to believers, the disks were up to 71 meters (230 feet) in diameter and could reach speeds of up to 5,000 kilometers per hour (3,100 miles per hour"), so Czerepok attempts in his exhibit to deconstruct the myths. 

The peculiar structure above outside of the village of Nowa Ruba in Poland’s Owl Mountains , whose purpose remains a mystery, is of particular interest. “Some believe it was some kind of storage facility or an ammunition factory. Others believe it was used for an anti-gravity engine.”  Czerepok believes his exhibition is about history, some people view as science fiction and others historical facts. It’s open for all possible interpretations and different audiences.  Are the Nazi UFOs only comic book myths?

Do questions remain?  Why was the Antartic expedition Operation High Jump cut short?  What became of the detailed plans and models for the Nazi UFOs that grew out of the Haunebu project?   Was anti-grav tech taken underground into black ops?  There is, at least, one more Nazi myth Czerepok missed, which is the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) on the dark side of the moon.  A new sci-fi movie, "Iron Sky" is in the beginning stages of production and will be based on the myth the Nazis return to invade the Earth in 2018?  Is there something more to the Nazi myths?

from kurt nimmo: On Friday [aug13], a jury found “National Security Intelligence” asset Hal Turner guilty of threatening to kill a judge. Prosecutors argued the former radio host threatened federal judges Richard Posner, William Bauer and Frank Easterbrook after they upheld a law banning handguns in Chicago. “Let me be the first to say this plainly: these judges deserve to be killed,” Turner posted on his website in June 2009. He also posted the judges’ phone numbers and office addresses. Two previous attempts by the government to convict Turner resulted in mistrials with deadlocked juries.

Hal Turner’s conviction and possible ten year prison term is yet another example of the government habitually burning trusted assets.

Turner was not a garden variety operative working for the FBI. He was a National Security Intelligence asset and worked for the FBI on “National Security, terrorism, foreign counterintelligence. There are people that are giving information that affects the national security of the United States, terrorism, matters that are going to affect the population or people overall, something that’s really going to hinder and hurt a large group of people or the national security of the United States,” Assistant Special Agent in Charge Amy Pickett, the third highest ranking FBI Official in New York City, said in December, 2009. His code name was “Valhalla” and “he received thousands of dollars from the FBI to report on such groups as the Aryan Nations and the white supremacist National Alliance, and even a member of the Blue Eyed Devils skinhead punk band,” according to The Record. Turner’s service was apparently so valuable to the government he was sent to Brazil where he reported a scheme to send non-military supplies to Iraqi resistance fighters.

Government burning formerly prized minions and those who follow illegal directives is nothing new. After Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld issued orders to torture Iraq detainees in violation of the Geneva Conventions, a number of military personnel were prosecuted. Eleven soldiers were convicted of various charges relating to torture at Abu Ghraib. Two soldiers, Specialist Charles Graner, and his former fiancée, Specialist Lynndie England, were sentenced to ten years and three years in prison.

In 1934, Hitler betrayed and had the Gestapo murder trusted members of of the Sturmabteilung, also known as the Brownshirts, a paramilitary group responsible for engaging in terrorism and mass murder as Hitler ascended to power. “The measures taken on June 30, July 1 and 2 to suppress treasonous assaults are legal as acts of self-defense by the State,” Hitler declared after the Gestapo killed hundreds of people.

In much the same way, the formerly trusted operative Hal Turner was declared a threat to the state, although he has yet to suffer the fate of Ernst Röhm, the leader of the SA, who was assassinated.

If anything, the case of Hal Turner should serve as a warning to those considering cooperating with the government in its ongoing effort to infiltrate and “neutralize” — as the late FBI boss J. Edgar Hoover characterized the actions of his COINTELPRO — any organized opposition to the establishment.
