Anyway! I suppose it would be sensible and kind to explain why I chose Elise's art and why I like it. I asked her a few questions and she gave me good, chunky answers that explained a lot of detail, which was very handy for my work That's all on the A3 stuff, which also shows quite a few pieces of her recent work that she's mainly proud of.
I've been a fan of Elise's art since I was thirteen/fourteen. She drew a lot of Sonic art, and of course if you know me you know I love Sonic. But it wasn't just the fan art that I liked. She had a unique style in her art that made Sonic look more alive and less cartoony. She was also a master in drawing expressions. I mean, the characters weren't just happy, they were ecstatic; the characters weren't just sad, they were depressed. She could really show the emotion in a picture, but not just with the face, but with body language too.
I also love the way she colours and shades. I can't shade to save my life, and when I seen a shaded picture she had drawn for me, my eyes practically fell out the sockets.
So yeah, I was more than determined to stick by Elise and see what she would draw. I never thought someone as talented as her could improve, but over the years she has, and it's kind of amazing to see that.
I've learnt a lot from Elise. And after interviewing her, I realise more than ever how much dedication and determination she puts into her art. That's another reason why I like her drawings: because they're not rushed. They're precious, and something she takes great care in.
