Hello,
I need an urgent information. My visa stamping in my passport got expired, but I have valid I-797 document. I am planning to have my visa restamping in India. I came to know that with expired visa stamp we can not travel via UK and France. Can you please advice if I can travel via Frankfurt, Germany? or do I need to get a Transit Visa.
Anyone who has travelled through Germany with expired H1B visa stamp?
I have to travel within a week and I would appreciate your advice.

I had a similar issue during my first H1B visa stamping. My H1B was approved from company ABC and after approval name of the company was changed to XYZ. So, my employer gave me copy of a letter issued by State of Maine (Company ABC was registered in Maine). This letter stated that company XYZ is same as ABC. My passport was stamped with company ABC's name. My employer also gave me a letter stating that XYZ is same as ABC.
Not sure how this name change will affect your I-140 or I-485.

My I-140 was sent on July, 28th to TSC. I did not yet receive any receipt number. How long does it take to get the receipt number once I-140 is applied?
I received my Receipt in 6 Days. Applied on 21th June and Receipt on 27th June. But still in process at Nebraska Service Center.

Hi all,
My wife is on F-1 Visa and is planning to graduate in Dec 07. I have applied for I-485 for both of us in last week of July. Can she Under-Enroll for Fall 2007 as that will be her graduating semester?
I understand that once I-485 is filed, the F-1 Visa candidate cannot make any F-1 related changed (transfer, extend, OPT) since that person has shown immigration intent. What about under enrollment in graduating semester? My wife called her school and they said that they have to internally approve her under enrollment by looking at her Plan of Study, graduation application etc.. The approval is given internally and INS is not involved in the approval process. It�s just that after the approval, the school has to inform INS about what they did.
Does it mean, it�s Okay to under enroll? Any inputs on this will be appreciated.

There's a thread on media coverage which also states that we can get a lot of coverage amongst people via Digg.com.
What is digg and how it works- (wikipedia)
Readers can view all of the stories that have been submitted by fellow users in the "digg/News/Upcoming" section of the site. Once a story has received enough "diggs", it appears on Digg's front page. Should the story not receive enough diggs, or if enough users report a problem with the submission, the story will remain in the "digg all" area, where it may eventually be removed.
The highest rated digg in last 7 days (with 8632 hits / diggs) is that of a iphone. Our issue could not even beat the new iphone release. My PERM for EB3 has been approved on July 2008. My I-140 is pending. 485 has not been submitted yet. I don't have EAD card either. For some reason, I have to change job.
My question is, if my current employer will not revoke my current I-140 sponsorship, even I have left company, and in case my current I-140 will be approved, can my priority date be carried over?

As far as I know, the 5 year wait period was until a couple years ago when the family based GC was backlogged. I got married in 2004 and had to wait until 2008 to file for GC, when my husband got his citizenship. At that time, our attorney advised this as the best course, since the priority dates were about 5 years out.
Filing for spouse falls under 2A of the family sponsored GC and currently the priority date for 2A India is 01 Jan 2010. In my estimation, you should get a GC within 12-18 mths.
But then again, I am not an attorney - so please consult one to validate this information.

Not sure if I posted this on right forum....
I'm at 485/EAD stage. not on H1b anymore. I recently badly sprained and fractured my ankle/foot. Am considering taking a leave for maybe two weeks from work.
Question: does going on short term disability and getting benefits from the state have any adverse effect on the immigration process?

My EAD and AP application got rejected because of missing signature on the form.Now i am planning to file on my own with out the help of attorney as he is charging me too much for refile.
So needed help in drafting the letter addressing the situation.Above all i didn't receive my application back and USCIS personnel told me that i can refile as a fresh application if i don't receive in 30days.And i am already completed the 30days.I do have the rejected application LIN number and my 485 receipt.
Please advice me what to do i want to avoid attorney.

Folks please advise on using POJ method. I tried calling using the instructions below however I always get to customer service instead of NSC where I intend to connect. Am I missing something here ?

I filed my appeal with a new 140 on the same labor in Eb3, and in my Motion to Reopen specified to consider my old application in eb3 but if they will not to atleast consider my new application. This was an year back and I have filed premium, my new 140 was approved in 3 days, old one went AAO, but we withdrew the old one.
Talk to a good attorney, I consulted Aron Finkelstein in Murthy law firm. They were nominal and excellent customer support.
