EAD is employment authorization document. Your analogy is like -
"Can I use her driving licence to drive around town". I am not sure if that is what you meant.
If you want her to be the primary applicant in your GC application and then use EAD as a dependent, that is possible. You will lose your H1B status then.

I was working with employer -A till 2006 and got I140 approved (Feb 2006) in EB3. In November 2006 I joined employer B as it is good for my carrier. I talk to employer A (body shopper) and he is ready to support for my green card as I worked for him for six long years and still he did not cancel my old H1B.
1. I have two options here my old employer (A) is body-shopper. So he will agree for both future or current employment. I have very good permanent job and bright future prospects with new employer (B). In this case what you guys advice me? Apply I485 as future employment or quit present job and join old employer (A) and apply I485 as current employment?
2. If I do not join old employer (with whom I have I140 approved) now, in this case what are my options for I485 applying? (Only future employment I485/ I can file current employment I485 and not drawing any salary from old employer )
3. Will I485 as future employment has any problems?
4. Can I use AC21 after 180 days on my I485 future employment application?

Looks like things are heating up and an Immigration bill might get passed sooner than expected!

My current H1-B expires on 01/4/2011. I am planning to switch to EAD in November. What is the procedure to switch to EAD from H1-B. Is there any form that needs to be filled. Please advice. My company admin and HR have no idea and are asking me to find out for myself.

You can file uptill Sep30 2010, or when the quoto gets over, whatever happens first.
And as far as your start date is concerned, if your H1B is from the 2009-2010 quota and you've applied for it after oct 2009, it can start anytime after Oct2009 till Sep2010 ( the date your H1B gets approved), please get this confirmed though.

Yes you can get a second job while on EAD...I read in another thread that you keep one job as primary job which satisfies the LC rules then can work on second job and don't have to worry if your second job is as per LC rules or not. Hope this helps.

Your H1B is tied to your current company. If your new employer wants to hire you, they have to file a separate H1B for you.

But now, each new inmate booked into one of the three largest jails in the County will now also have his or her fingerprints checked by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) biometric system for any immigration record.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is the first law enforcement organization in California to partner with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in their Secure Communities program. This comprehensive program is intended to streamline the process by which ICE determines if the screened inmate is a criminal alien, subject to automatic removal at the completion of his or her incarceration. Highest priority is given to inmate aliens who have been convicted of crimes such as rape, robbery, murder, kidnapping, and major drug offenses.
By implementing programs like Secure Communities in prison facilities and law enforcement organizations, ICE identified more than 221,000 potentially removable aliens incarcerated nationwide in fiscal year 2008. This fiscal year, the agency anticipates spending more than one billion to continue these programs. ICE currently partners with 50 counties and law enforcement agencies across the nation through the Secure Communities program and looks to expand the program to all law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.
