Prince William & Kate Middleton's U.S. Trip Itinerary Revealed!

Prince William & Kate Middleton's U.S. Trip Itinerary Revealed!

California, here they come! Newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton, now known formally as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are headed to the U.S. July 8-10 for a jam-packed two-day visit to the Golden State. St. James Palace has just released their itinerary, which leaves little time for lounging on the beach.

After an 11-day tour of Canada, the royal couple will arrive in California, where their activities will focus on "supporting British interest in California through the prism of their own interests." What does that mean? Lots of fancy dinners and charity events, apparently. On Friday night, the couple will be special guests at the Consular-General Reception held by the United Kingdom Trade and Investment, a government department that oversees British business interests outside of England.

Things pick up on Saturday afternoon, with Prince William slated to play in a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. All proceeds will go to the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. Following the polo match, there will be a reception involving a luncheon and an awards ceremony. That evening, William and Kate will be attending a dinner hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts at the legendary (and recently renovated) 1926 Belasco Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The event is meant to celebrate "up and coming British talent" in the arts.

On Sunday, the newly married couple will visit the Inner-City Arts School, an organization that brings education and training to some of the poorest neighborhoods in L.A. After that, William and Kate will visit Culver City's Sony Studios, where they'll attend the Service Nation: Mission Serve job fair for veterans.

That's an exhausting itinerary for the newlyweds -- although Prince William, having grown up as a royal, is used to such public duties. His wife, on the other hand, has had a steep learning curve. According to People's latest cover story, the new bride is "completely taking it in her stride." More proof that William chose well!
