JR Project Women

This is amazing. Just amazing. Artist JR created a massive showcase in Kibera, Kenya called Project Women. It took over a year of planning and organizing for the artist to cover over 2,000 square meters (approx 25,500 sq ft) of rooftops with the eyes of women in Kibera. Eyes have also been put on the local train where JR also made it so that at times when the trains stop they meet with pictures of smiles on the hillside to create a face. There are also pictures on their homes. It's the most beautiful sight ever.

I was on Highsnobette.com & saw these super cool reeboks. They did a collection based on the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Basquiat is Brooklyn born & Puerto Rican. Holla!
I don't think these kicks would look good on me, but the art is mad cool. Nice work Reebok.

Shepard Fairey's Hope

Shepard Fairey's famous Obama Hope image has been inducted into Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery. I read on the art collectors blog that "only a few months ago Fairey was arrested in Denver for postering around the Democratic National Convention. Now his name will appear in the permanent collection of the government-sponsored Smithsonian Institute."
That's fucking great.

Fairey also appeared on the Colbert Report show where Colbert said "So you’re a criminal…that’s the sort of people who support Barack Obama.” Lol. Everyone supports Barack Obama. That's why he's pure greatness.
