If your spouse is on H4, you can invoke the EAD? I dont understand what is the problem in invoking the EAD?

Are they issuing EADs to 2 year olds? That would mean it is legal for a 2 year old to work which just does not add up.
My co-worker, who has 5 year old kid, his son received an EAD (he filed I-765). He applied for SSN and received the SSN card within 5 days of application.
If Sury wants SSN for his kid, s/he can give a try.

My husband and I filed our documents last July 5. It reached USCIS on July 6. I was also confused whether to file or not but I said to myself that even if we don't win the lawsuit at least we tried. I know we all don't know the outcome of this whole fiasco but the only thing we can do is hope and pray for the best. My brother is also H1 and just waiting to adjust status like me and my husband but he hasn't filed his documents. I can't tell him what to do because it's his own decision. I do know that I feel good about our decision and no matter what the outcome is, I'm glad that my husband and I did file our documents. So come Monday, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and praying for all of us. :)

I Agree that a "professional model" is hard to find and they deserve to be in "Highly skilled" category. Thats the same with a Genuine "Java( or Any Technology) Expert". But those people are really hard to find these days
My opinion:
Well, can the Java Programmer walk the ramp and pull it off like a professional model? Their work is a lot harder than it appears on the outside taking into account the success rate among models. Considering that even school kids can write excellent java programs, if we still want to consider the Java programmer as "highly skilled", then so are models.
Giselle Bundchen is worth half a billion dollars or somewhere in that range.
Btw, I am in the programming line myself in case someone thinks I have a problem with programmers. But I wouldn't mind swapping places with a successful model ;)

I-485 could be from family based, EB1 and ROW categories. I dont all these became Unavailable on July 2nd. Also you are right, USCIS didnt reject applications even though they came in between July 2nd and 17th.

Transit visa is only required if you are planning to return to the US. If you are planning to go back to the country of citizenship, no trasit visa is required through Germany, London etc..
If this still a concern, there are other options. There are direct flight (Delta) from NY to Mumbai, Also you can go through Egypt (no transit visa required) or UAE, direct flight from NY to Dubai on Emirates and onward to India. Over the pacific you can fly through Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc without a transit visa.

The Last I heard they had 40K unused numbers(Ombudsman report). Some lucky few with much newer priorities might get through if USCIS tries to clear these numbers fast by end of FY'07. I do not believe they really have time to sort out by priority date if sep'30 is the date they need to get 40K approvals through.
Besides ombudsman report says they attack the no-brainer applications first which take a few mins to finish and push the harder ones for later revisit, so they can score better on their performance reviews. I am not sure what qualifies as easy application though??

Why are you working for an illegal. How did you get your I140 approved working for such an employer? Are you an anti immigrant trying to get members tell you some illegal ways.
You cannot get your Labor or I140 approved via a phoney employer. All these are legal processes and lot of checks happen. I find something wrong in your story.
If you still feel it is credible, then with such problems, you need a legal advice not a forum advice.
Maybe there is a confusion, what I think it is illegal is the contract, the employer is legal, that is way I obtained the visa and the I140.
