Sydni Yoshie, R.I.P.
The name may sound familiar, especially if you've been an active member of the Female Sneaker Fiend forums anytime in the past 3 years. Sydni Yoshie was a former moderator on the FSF forum, and an amazingly talented artist. Photography was her medium; I spoke to her a few times on the boards, and am a huge fan of her art. She definitely had an eye for photography. I visited her DeviantArt site all the time, in awe at the images she was able to produce. I hadn't been on FSF in awhile, but today I found out that Sydni passed away in June, in a car accident. I didn't know her personally, but I felt oddly connected to her, through her art. Her pictures speak to you, they tell a story about the subjects in them. It speaks wonders about a person, when someone else, a stranger, can feel connected to them through their artwork. Sydni's art is exactly what 21-7 is all about--connecting with people and sharing your passion with them in such a way that it will impact them. An amazing artist, and to those who knew her, an amazing friend was lost. 21-7 sends our condolences to the family and friends of Sydni. The image above is a self-portrait of Sydni, check out her DeviantArt album for more of her work.
