NY Fashion Week is getting me soooo excited for Spring 2009 and I haven't even started shopping for the Fall!
Alexander Wang is a young designer forshadowing himself to soon be recognized as one of the greats. He has certainly shown his esthetic to be grudgy & edgy, but for Spring 2009 he took inspiration from Miami Vice & brightened it all up. This collection is brilliant from head to toe. Wang continues to use his signature black fabrics, but this time he added bright pastells in the form of oversized blazers and loose-fitting shorts. He used leather, keeping his grude-girl vibe, in dresses, tops, bottoms, jackets, headgear & platforms with fringe & studs. For Spring, Wang gives us cropped tops, baggy pants, body-huggin' dresses, jersey, mesh, & denim.
With other projects under his belt, like his T-shirt line called T and his shoes for Manolo Blahnik, Alexander Wang is ready to take the fashion industry by the choke hold. And I'm dying to strangle myself in his label!
