I have a simply question, not urgent, not immediate
I moved to a different place (same city), but my wife is out of country. I am trying to file AR-11 for change of address, but it is asking for Last Port of entry. Is AR11 needed only for people who are currently in the country.

Hi all,
I got my first H1B after my MS in Nov 2002 to Oct 2005. I have renewed my H1B for the next 3 year period (Nov 2005 to Oct 2008) and I have the necessary forms from the USCIS. Now I need to get my passport restamped. I am considering Tijuana, Mexico as I have a friend in San Diego that I want to see. However, my I94 form in my passport says it expires in Nov 2005. Now my question is:
Can I go to Mexico for a restamp? What is the procedure/risk involved?

OK. Assume that you decided to take the "better offer" by throwing the previous "better offer" and they trasnfer your H1, before joining them you will surely get another "better offer" in few months, because you are always searching for that, what will you do?
"Career growth is important and you have to catch the opportunities on your way." - I guess you misunderstood this.
I will not encourage this practice at all.

this makes it very hard for people who jumped jobs in their 7th/8th years with 1 year extensions from new employer. All were hoping to get LC+I_140 done within that year so they are eligible for further H1B extensions.

I was with couple of Big 5 consulting firms. Its good to work for them to add some weight to your resume. But I feel they really dont care for employees let it be immigration, comfort feeling, value to the employees etc.
So make terms clear before joining.

I have an old H1B visa with approval date December 19, 2000. I moved to US in Jan 2001 and spend only 2 months in USA in total. Stay outside USA from Mar 2001 until now.
Can I apply for the remaining time against my initial six-year period of admission and will be exempted from the cap?

Hi guys,
My LCA got denied today (reason unknown) and my H1-B has expired on Nov. 1 as well. :(
I also have a pending I-485 petition with approved I-140. I also have a valid EAD. So I assume, I am currently shifted to AOS pending status working on EAD.
My question is whether this denial negatively affects my pending I-485 application? I assume not but just wanted to confirm anyways :confused:

There are two sides to the issue : strengthening the domestic workforce through education, research investment etc and then there is skilled immigration. The first half no doubt enjoys unanimous support ... however, when it comes to promoting skilled immigration, it is a pretty safe bet that the anti-immigrant lobby is going to play hard ball (already evident from the SF gate article). I called USCIS to know the status of my I765 and I131 and came to know it got rejected because of sign missing on the form as i had filed my 485 with my EAD and AP i got my 485 receipt month back.
And USCIS said they have mailed my returned application on 13th aug but i have not received it yet.I called USCIS and they said that i can refile it again after 30days if i don't receive my package. Can i file on my own i do have the LIN number for rejected application.Can i file online

thanks to everyone here for the kind input, I am almost done with my GC application under NIW. Since I have a load of documents for primary evidence,
how should I arrange them and where should I mention the "table of contents" so to speak. I have a detailed cover letter also.

INS prefers or should I use the term "requires" a certain way of organizing documents using certain clips. You can search online for them. They do this because it helps in filing them the documents at their office.
