killswitch: obama admin fears egypt-style revolt in USfrom paul joseph watson: The Obama administration is busy attempting to pass legislation that would give the President a kill switch for the Internet in the United States while at the same time decrying Egyptian authorities for shutting down the Internet in a bid to deflate the unfolding revolution against Hosni Mubarak. The reason is simple – the government fears an Egypt-style revolt occurring in the U.S. and wants to block access to the world wide web if and when it happens... While Obama criticizes Egyptian authorities for shutting down web access to disrupt protesters, his own administration prepares to launch a fresh attempt at instituting the exact same powers in America, which as recent history clearly demonstrates, represent tools for tyrannical regimes who wish to silence legitimate political opposition.

Your Super Bowl Week Trends: 'Black and Yellow,' 'Teach Me How to Raji'

Whether or not Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" anthem was specifically targeted at the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team's Super Bowl run has definitely helped drive more views to the music video for the song, which, as we examined, spurred a number of popular imitations. A quick look at the data shows that there's definitely been a steady rise in daily views as the season has progressed.

Those large spikes you see in the past month coincide with weekend days. You can mouse-over the dots to see how big events this season affected viewership:

There are a number of music videos that have grown popular in Green Bay as well, though none of them are by artists as mainstream as Wiz Khalifa and would mostly be considered parody songs. But it seems a new dance trend might also be brewing up in Wisconsin heading into the Super Bowl thanks to a recent 4th-quarter touchdown by lineman B.J. Raji.

Creating videos for the dance -- which combine's Raji's celebration with the music from one of 2010's biggest dance-trends, the "dougie" -- seems to be gaining a little popularity among Packer fans this week. We've pulled together a playlist of those clips below, including one from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, which is one of the Most Shared/Viewed videos in Milwaukee today.

the bob lazar story: s-4 sport model fueled by element 115

the bob lazar story: s-4 sport model fueled by element 115 The Bob Lazar Story still fascinates, though, the first anonymous interview with George Knapp took place over 20 years ago. Lazar's credibility remains in question to this day, because of an inability to substantiate his background according to this timeline. It appears doubtful Lazar attended either CalTech or MIT and graduated in the bottom third of his 1976 high school class. Lazar still has his backers who found much evidence to support his claims. Lazar's six months in 1989 at Area 51's S-4 site to reverse engineer an alien disc in a project called Galileo, remains spellbinding--either way! You can view a credible Lazar in a well done interview about his experience here. The story propels us into the future with enough detail to pique curiosity.

Lazar's top secret government research career appears to have kicked into high gear by attending a lecture by famous nuclear physicist Edward Teller at Los Alamos, NM on June 28, 1982, where he met Teller. The scientist happened to have the Los Alamos Monitor newspaper opened to an article on Lazar's jet car demonstration of the day before. The article refers to Lazar as a physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Teller is provided a resume according to Lazar, but elsewhere, the eccentric nuclear scientist is cited as not remembering ever meeting him. Teller, the father of the hydrogen bomb, is the character Dr. Strangelove is based so anything is possible here?

The details of the S-4 Sport Model (pictured) described by Lazar, seems more than a passing familiarity and captivates a reader's imagination! The physical description of the alien "sleek sport model" disc, acquired in trade from aliens, lends an air of realism if not credibility to the story. Three gravity amplifiers with wave guides located on the lowest level and a reactor fueled by Element 115 on the middle level, while avoiding a detailed description of the technology that can be surveyed here and here, does leave doubt whether this is a hoax? It's either a good psyop or it's the real thing! Norio Hayakawa, a veteran UFO researcher who still has questions, cannot decide whether Lazar is a fraud in an article here? It's just a fascinating story either way!

Beautiful Book Covers: The Fallen series

The Fallen 1: The Fallen and Leviathan

Published by Simon Pulse, March 9, 2010
544 pages, Young Adult

This is another addition to my TBR pile!  I've been meaning to get to
these books, as I have so many others....
The story is about a young boy who finds out, when he turns eighteen,
that he is the son of an angel and a human.  But there's more...
for he has been chosen to redeem the Fallen.
Sound as fascinating as the cover is enticing!

The Fallen 2: Aerie and Reckoning
Thomas Sniegoski

Published by Simon Pulse, July 20, 2010
576 pages, Young Adult

In this second book of the series, Aaron, the half-angel, half-human
introduced in the first book, must battle
the leader of the Dark Powers,
who is, of course, determined to destroy him, at the same time
eliminating all hope of an angelic reconciliation.
Naturally, there's also Aaron's girlfriend, whom he must protect...
as well as the family he has come to love.

I think I'll move these books to the top of the pile -- not only are the covers
incredibly attractive, but the story line sounds like just
the thing I enjoy reading!

hermann oberth: father of space travel

hermann oberth: father of space travel Hermann Oberth is a rare example where science married fiction and it became difficult to tell the two apart. Oberth called the "Father of Space Travel" for his visionary writing about the future of space, was greatly influenced by Jules Verne, when at the age of 11, his mother gave him Verne's "Earth to the Moon" and "Around the Moon", three years later, he designed his first spacecraft. Oberth, along with Russian Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and American Robert Goddard, became known as pioneers of rocket science. The career path was far from easy, however. Oberth designed and submitted a long range liquid propellant rocket, which was rejected in 1917 by the German Ministry of War. Oberth's doctoral thesis based on his rocket design was also rejected by the University of Heidelberg. Opting to end his pursuit of a doctorate, Oberth partially financed the publication of his dissertation in a 1923 book, "Die Rakete zu den Planetenräumen" (The Rocket into Interplanetary Space). A short readable biography of Oberth at the New Mexico Museum of Space History website, includes how in the book based on his rejected dissertation, "...he explained mathematically, how rockets could achieve a speed that would allow them to escape Earth's gravitational pull. The book earned Oberth widespread recognition, and inspired a generation of German rocket enthusiasts". In 1929, Oberth joined the Verein fur Raumshiffahrt or VfR ("Spaceflight Society"), which quickly grew and soon voted its president.

Oberth "..with his teen-aged protégé Wernher von Braun and other members of the VfR, launched Oberth's first rocket on May 7, 1931, near Berlin (more than five years after Goddard launched the world's first liquid-fuel rocket)". Later, in 1941, Oberth worked under van Braun at Peenemunde in the development of the V-2 rocket.

In 1953, Oberth's book "Menschen im Weltraum" (Man in Space) was published, where ideas were forwarded of space stations, electric spaceships and space suits. Van Braun was able to lure his mentor in 1955 to join him with many of the V-2 rocket scientists in the United States.  Oberth resigned in 1958 and returned to Germany, where he spent the remainder of his life.

Hermann Oberth may be remembered as much for his enigmatic quotes as for his worldly accomplishments.  In 1972, Oberth was quoted, "Today, we cannot produce machines that fly the same as UFOs do. They are flying by means of artificial gravity.  This would explain the sudden changes of directions.  This hypothesis would also explain the piling up of these discs into a Cylindrical or cigar shaped Mothership upon leaving Earth. Because it is in this fashion that only one field of gravity would be required for all the flying saucers," as excerpted from Jonathon Eisen's book, "Suppressed Inventions...," in this You Tube Video. The most interesting Oberth quote of all, may be, "we have been helped by peoples of other worlds". What in or possibly out of this world did Oberth mean?

Y me dijo:

challenger: 'obviously, a major malfunction'

challenger: 'obviously, a major malfunction' In observance of the 25th anniversary of the Shuttle Challenger disaster, the words of NASA public relations officer Steve Nesbitt just over a minute after launch, seem etched on people's minds, "obviously, a major malfunction". CNN Live coverage from that fateful day January 28, 1986, can be viewed here. Richard C Cook, author of Challenger Revealed, recounts the O-Ring issue and Morton Thiokol's reservations in a, "Lew Rockwell article," which recaps the mainstream media message on the disaster. Cook issued a memo six months prior with his safety concerns, when contractors related to him shortly after his arrival at NASA, they held their breath with every launch because of deficiencies in the design of the O-Rings and especially at cold temperatures. There is another message implicit in the event, however.

It's the hidden meaning of the names of the space shuttles. "A Colombian Enterprise to Endeavor for the Discovery of Atlantis... and all Challengers shall be destroyed," taken from the late William Cooper's writings, which can be read here. Cooper believed it's the symbolic language of the Illuminati.

The late David J Meyer, a minister who warned about dangers of the occult and secret societies, is prescient in this January 1995 Last Trumpet Newsletter:
"I would like to mention that the program of the Illuminati is revealed in the names of the space shuttles. The United States used to have six but now has five space shuttles. The names of these are: 1. Columbia, 2. Enterprise, 3. Endeavor, 4. Discovery, 5. Atlantis. If we take that exact order, we will find that a message is formed.

We know that the name Columbia is taken from the Washington D.C. or District of Columbia, where the Illuminati is actively utilizing the the United States Government for its own purposes. Enterprise is the name given to the plan to bring forth the new world government. Endeavor is the labor required by the Illuminists to bring forth the New World Order. Discovery is the discovery of the New Empire that is to be brought forth from the ashes of the old. Atlantis is the name given to the New Empire. The legend of the lost continent of Atlantis reveals that it was a Socialist Superstate that controlled ancient Europe. It is the Illuminists who are trying to bring forth a New Atlantis, which is to rise again.

If we take these names of the space shuttles in order, we come up with an interesting sentence as follows: Columbia in a great Enterprise will Endeavor to Discover Atlantis. It is interesting that the shuttle named "Challenger" was destroyed! The conspirators love to speak and communicate in secret or cryptic language, but God reveals all of their secrets.
"
Are the shuttle's names used in 'twilite' (or twilight) language to influence us? In the video, "Unholy Alliance," a strong case builds on the interpretation provided by Cooper and Meyer. "The ENTERPRISE of the United States (COLUMBIA), shall be destroyed after completing its mission. CHALLENGERs shall be destroyed before completing their mission and replaced by our last British led ENDEAVOUR, for the DISCOVERY of ATLANTIS." It certainly seems possible, "..apparent meaning of a word or phrase that changes once one learns its meaning,” the definition provided in the video of twilite language is at work. Are we on the last leg of a course directly to a a socialist superstate--a new Atlantis?

Book Review: The Island of Eternal Love

The Island of Eternal Love

La Isla de los Amores Infinitos
Daina Chaviano
first edition, published by Grijalbo, Sept. 5, 2006
384 pages

Reviewer's Notes

I first read this book in Spanish, and then bought the English version, which I do intend to read soon.  I have so many books to get to...sigh....

I first posted this review on Amazon, on April 18, 2010.  I really should have posted it here much, much sooner!

Chaviano is an enormously talented author, specializing in fantasy and science fiction.   Definitely my cup of tea!!  Although this is the only one of her books I've read thus far, I am familiar with the plots of her other novels, so I can confidently make such a statement. Hopefully, more of her books will be translated into English in the near future.

By the way, I think the cover with the gently-curving staircase is absolutely beautiful!

I have just finished a journey through the ethnic history of a people - my people - in a land of love and blood, as well as magically captivating landscapes in which sun and moon dance to the intoxicating rhythms of a gently rolling sea.

I have found myself in these pages. Chaviano's enthralling story has wrapped me in a nostalgic dream, one that had, inexplicably enough, dwelt in my subconscious mind for years. It was the dream of a beautiful island paradise, one where love is indeed eternal, where the warm breezes of the Malecon enticed one with their romantic whisperings, where the night pulsed with vibrant music, the music of the masters--Ernesto Lecuona, Benny More...

This dream awakened once more in me as I read this enchanting story, which weaves the tales of three different families, three different ethnic groups, into one single thread. The experiences of each family also serve to highlight key periods of Cuban history.

There is the Chinese family, who seeks refuge from war in a land already sheltering their fellow countrymen. There is the African family, in the person of a young girl cruelly snatched from the bosom of her tribe, to be sold into slavery. Then there is the family from Spain, whose female members inherit a strangely humorous curse.

Cecilia, the protagonist, ties everything together through her unusual conversations with Amalia, a mysterious old woman whom she meets in a Little Havana bar, a Miami neighborhood thus nicknamed for its heavy concentration of Cuban immigrants in the '60s and '70s. Cuban boleros play in the background, while vistas of a Havana from a bygone era roll on a screen set up next to the dance floor.

The whole tale unfolds as Cecilia, feeling existentially lost in Miami, sits by Amalia's side, raptly listening to the woman's tale of the three families, of growing up listening to the giants of Cuban music, of her loving relationship with Rita Montaner, the great Cuban actress.

Cecilia listens, and her nostalgia and sense of loss grow, even as, in her life away from the bar and these enthralling tales, she starts to investigate a very strange phenomenon - a haunted house that appears in different locations all over Miami, as it once also appeared in Havana.

There are humorous touches in this magical book, as well, such as the already mentioned curse, and one of Cecilia's friends, who calls himself "La Lupe", after a Cuban singer of recent years. One cannot possibly forget "Fidelina", the parrot who screams out popular Communist slogans, to the constant dismay of her owner. The comical parrot satirizes the Cuban dictator she is obviously named for.

The plot weaves its serendipitous way from Amalia's tale to Cecilia's present-day life, from Havana to Miami. Through this technique, Chaviano metaphorically expresses the unceasing dance of longing felt by all Cubans who have had to uproot themselves in order to find a freedom denied to them by an oppressive regime.

Magical, enthralling, enchanting...this novel is a mesmerizing tapestry of the Cuban experience, told by a literary master. It is the quintessential Cuban novel. It is the story of my heart and soul, as it is that of all of us born in that magical, eternal land of eternal love...

egypt hits internet kill switch

egypt hits internet kill switch Organizations that track global activity noted a collapse of internet traffic in and out of Egypt at about 10:30pm, GMT, Thursday. The Telegraph reports in, "How Egypt shut down the internet," how loss of access involved the withdrawal of more than 3,500 Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routes by Egyptian ISPs. It's reported effectively 88 percent of all access was cut. "Only one ISP out of 10, Noor Data Networks, appeared largely unaffected. It connects to the outside world via an undersea cable operated by Telecom Italia.," the article continues, "Renesys [a networking firm] speculated that the apparent anomaly of Noor Data Networks may be a result of the fact it provides services to the Egyptian stock exchange." BGP is the protcol backing the core routing decisions on the internet. BGP, according to Wikipedia, "...does not use traditional Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) metrics, but makes routing decisions based on path, network policies and/or rulesets. For this reason, it is more appropriately termed a reachability protocol rather than routing protocol." Egypt joins North Korea, at least for the time being, as the only other country to deny its citizens access to the internet. It's interesting to see how the feat is done!

Zanessa.
