On January 3rd, Paula Abdul will return to her cheerleading roots as the host of RAH! Paula Abdul's Cheerleading Bowl. The 90 minute special will feature 5 cheerleading squads as they compete in NYC for bragging rights, a spread in American Cheerleader Magazine (I write for them!!!) and a trip to MTV's Spring Break 2009. The teams will showcase their athletic abilities including stunting, tumbling, dancing and overall athleticism and creativity to a panel of judges including Hi-Hat (choreographer, Bring It On and Step Up 2: The Streets) Abdul, Scott Bouchard (UMass-Dartmouth Cheerleading Coach) and Breanna Klinger (NY Jet's dancer). Participating team's include:
-University of Arizona -University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff -University of Montana -University of Miami at Ohio AND
-UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII!!!!!
If you haven't figured it out now, this is monumental for 3 reasons:
A. UH is competing! Hometown love!
B. AC Magazine is involved!
C. Duh, I'm a former cheerleader. And I kind of love it.
The show air's on January 3rd at 12pm eastern on MTV. Check out the video SPOILER below. I didn't watch this because I'm a cheer nerd and it's a SPOILER meaning it will SPOIL the show. So don't watch it if you don't want to know the results before the show airs! 21-7 will not be responsible for any rage that ensues after watching said SPOILER.
