'Super 8' Movie Preview & 'Judy Moody' Movie Preview

Which movies are fun for the whole family and which ones are treats just for you? Find out!

In theaters now:

Super 8
Short Story:
Hold on to your popcorn for this '70s-set sci-fi thriller from producer Steven Spielberg and director J.J. Abrams! Set in a small Ohio town, the film follows a group of friends who witness a train accident while filming their own Super-8 zombie film. But when something escapes from the train, locals begin to mysteriously dissappear and no one knows why. Was the accident really an accident?

What They're Saying:
"Loving, playful, and spectacularly well made, Super 8 is easily the best summer movie of the year -- of many years. And I make that declaration with full knowledge that the season has just begun." -- Entertainment Weekly

"Super 8 is the movie of the summer, the movie of MANY summers going back to the '70s. It's a creature feature, a first-love romance and a movie buff's movie about movie buffs trying to become movie makers." -- Orlando Sentinel

Good for the Kids?
You can't argue with the critics! Well, you can, but this film has recieved uniformly stellar reviews. With a PG-13 rating, it may be a bit scary for little kids -- but it''ll have the teens enthralled and is the perfect pick for a date night.

Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer
Short Story:
In this big-screen flick based on the beloved children's book series, third-grader Judy Moody (Jordana Beatty) expects to have the most boring summer of her life. But with the help of her brother Stink (Parris Mosteller) and the unexpected arrival of her crazy Aunt Opal (Heather Graham), Judy may just be in for one wild ride!

What They're Saying:
"At the risk of being a Debbie Downer, watching Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer is akin to being trapped in the ADHD-addled mind of an adolescent hopped up on too much Ritalin." -- Village Voice

"The movie may be high on the junk food meter and much too frantic when chasing down runaway plot threads, but who cares. Judy's creatively rowdy alternative kid universe delights with its Juno boot camp wild tween talk lingo and cartoonesque kid satire. " -- NewsBlaze

Good for the Kids?
Well, the critics might not have been so impressed, but it's definetely a movie to keep the kids entertained! With a PG rating, this film can be a fun escape for the entire family.

In case you missed:

X-Men: First Class
Short Story:
Sure, there have already been three X-Men films, but ever wonder how all those mutants got their crazy powers and banded together? Well, here you go! This prequel follows the journey of Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) before they become mortal enemies Professor X and Magneto. As they try to save humanity from the Cuban missile crisis, a clash between friends leads Professor X to partner with the X-Men to fight for good while Magneto and Brotherhood go on a road toward evil.

What They're Saying:
"The result is one of the best Marvel adaptations, packed with action, humor, retro 1960s style that's both campy and sexy, and a revisionist history lesson that puts the X-Men at the center of the Cuban missile crisis." -- Associated Press

"Entertaining enough for a Saturday night, and much more satisfying than the last X-Men offshoot, the woeful Wolverine." -- Boston Globe

Good for the Kids?
With rave reviews and an all-star cast, this is the perfect superhero flick for teenagers and adults to see on a hot summer day! With intense action sequences and a PG-13 rating, it's probably best to leave the little tots at home.
